Any chance you can support Chrome? Lazarus is no more -- ie, no updates in years, their website is down, etc. There is NO alternative in Chrome. Further, Lazarus has a nasty bug of not only failing to save anything when composing a GMAIL, if you click on the right margin, it also ERASES whatever you wrote. Please email me back if you can or would do this work. I suspect you could get support for providing it as well.
Do you have any plans to make your extension multiprocess-(e10s)-compatible?
Re: TextArea Cache 0.9.3.4, on Firefox (multiple versions)
Thank you for your useful extension. I've two questions. (1) Does the extension work for most sites? I am unsure it is working on Reddit. (2) I think you should specify the unit in the 'size of the cache' option. Is it characters? Metabytes?
I am using your addon Textarea Cache 0.9.3.4 on Firefox 50.0 on Windows 10. Your addon is reported as "Not compatible with multiprocess" (probably by an addon I just installed: "Add-on Compatibility Reporter 2.2.3"). Do you plan on supporting multiprocess?
Firefox version: 50 (64-bit)
OS: Linux Mint 18/Cinnamon (64-bit)
Textarea cache version: 0.9.3.4
Firefox 50 comes with "multiprocess architecture (e10s)" enabled and I am testing all my extensions (11) to see whether they are e10s compatible or not. Unfortunately, "Textarea Cache" is not. Firefox 50 also includes an automatic e10s disable function if an extension is found not to be compatible. When Textarea cache is enabled, e10s is automatically disabled.
Since I'm not a programmer or developer I can't go any further than I have so I'm letting you know.
Steps to reproduce:
Start Firefox 50 using a clean (temporary) profile. Check "about:support" and ensure that "Multiprocess Windows" is showing "1/1 (Enabled by default)". Install and enable "Textarea cache 0.9.3.4, restart Firefox 50 and check "about:support" again. It should now show that "Multiprocess Windows" is now showing "0/1 (Disabled by add-ons)".
This is reproducible every time. Otherwise the extension works normally with the above disabled.
Thank you for your time.
May I ask if you will make this addon e10 compatible please? Thanks.
Textarea Cache 0.9.3.4 is a must have extension in my opinion. I've used it since Fx 4 (and also use it on Pale Moon). I can't imagine being without it especially since I like to post sometimes lengthy comments in various forums. I installed Addon Compatibility Reporter for Fx 45.4 ESR earlier today and see that this extension is currently not compatible with multiprocess.
I certainly hope you will make it compatible before the next ESR version of Fx is released next year. I recall how awful it was before this extension existed and how awful it was when I had Opera (the real Opera) as my default browser years ago as it never had anything like this and I frequently lost text in forum posts and IM's at my home site (dslreports.com). Thank you very much for this wonderful extension that has saved me many times over the years.
Clicking on Options for Tab Mix Lite shows a new window with this:
XML Parsing Error: undefined entity
Line Number 484, Column 17:
Extension name and version; Tab Mix Lite ver. 4.63.2
Firefox version; 45.4.0
bug related URL or link (the page which produces the bug); Options
how to reproduce the bug (step by step, in detail); click on options
URL of screenshot if needed (sorry that you can not post image here, but URL is allowed).
Thanks for the excellent add-on.
I have been using Tab Mix Lite for quite a while but it has stopped working on recent Firefox (since 45.x or 46.x, I guess) as the result of the depreciation of the tab groups function.
When I try to open the preferences dialog, I get the following error:
Could you please look into this when you have time?
